Free AI calorie counter
C for Calories counts calories, protein, carbs and fat from a picture of your meal, in seconds. It's completely free: no trial, no paywall and no account.

How it works
Logging a meal takes about as long as taking the picture. You stay in control of every number.
Tap Scan Food and photograph your plate, or pick a photo you already took.
See each food with its weight, calories, protein, carbs and fat. Tap any item to change the amount or swap the food.
Choose breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. Your daily totals and remaining calories update straight away.
The whole plate, itemised
Most photo apps give you one number. C for Calories breaks the meal into foods, with an estimated weight for each, so you can see exactly where the calories come from, and fix the one thing it got wrong instead of starting again.
Lunch, from a photo
Grilled chicken · rice · broccoli · olive oil
Estimated. Tap any food to adjust before you save.
Every way to log
A photo is quickest for a home-cooked plate. For a protein bar, the barcode is exact. Use whichever fits the moment; it all goes into the same diary.
Built for every day

Free, without the catch
Many calorie apps let you download for free, then put the photo scanner, the barcode scanner or custom macros behind a subscription. C for Calories doesn't. Every tracking feature works from the first day, with no trial that runs out.

The app is supported by ads. If you prefer no ads, an optional Ad-Free subscription removes them; it doesn't unlock anything else.
The app sends a resized copy of your photo to an AI vision model. The model identifies the foods and estimates portion sizes, and the app matches them to nutrition data to give calories, protein, carbs and fat for each item. You review and edit the result before saving.
They're estimates. Clearly visible foods are usually close, while oils, sauces, hidden ingredients and very large or very small portions are harder. That's why every item shows its weight and can be edited. For packaged food, the barcode scanner uses the label instead. Read more in Are AI calorie counters accurate?
